Thirty years later, it has become a rather large frivolous adventure. He believes his mother has finally forgiven him, ever since he played the euphonium (accompanied by the Cincinnati Symphony) at Carnegie Hall, but still hopes to make her even prouder by getting to grad school, eventually...

He is the proud owner of a hybrid Toyota Prius, and encourages everyone else to buy a super-ultra low emission vehicle. Now! Get going!

He lives in Portland, Oregon with his several families in a large but dignified multi-generational post-hippie commune, and is very proud of his incipient garden, which he misses, but not nearly as much as he does the people he loves, including but not limited to his sons, Jasper and Gavriel, his wives Seiza and Andrine, his virtual daughters Petra and Tasche, and his junior high school sweetheart Diane.

He is very eager to see what happens next.
